As shown in the figure below, connect a 9V battery to the battery connector at the

bottom of the deadbolt.

If you power off the deadbolt without first locking it, the latch-bolt will NOT

automatically extend. The deadbolt will remain “unlocked”. Replace the AA

batteries to resume locking the deadbolt.
